FAQ

Is there an automatic backup while I write an article?

Yes. Elium keeps your unsaved changes in your browser, and offers to restore them.

Updated on 6 October 2026

Yes. While you edit an article, Elium regularly keeps a copy of your changes in your browser.

If you leave the editor without saving, for example because your connection was lost, open the editor again in the same browser. A window titled "Attention" asks what to do:

  • "Continue with autosave" restores what you were editing.

  • "Discard the autosave" opens the last saved version.

This copy stays only in the browser you used. For long or complex articles, save a draft regularly: a draft is saved in Elium, and other contributors can open it.
