Update Article

Edit an article and choose how to save your changes.

Updated on 5 October 2026

You can edit an existing article at any time.

  1. Open the article and click "Edit".

  2. Make your changes in the editor.

  3. Click "Save" in the top right corner, then choose how to save your changes.

The "Save" menu has five options:

  • "Silent update": nobody is notified.

  • "Regular update": the followers of the article are notified.

  • "Promoted update": the article appears again in the content feed and in the digest.

  • "Request approval": your changes must be approved before they are published.

  • "Save changes as draft": your changes are kept in a draft and are not published yet.

Silent update

Use a silent update for small changes, such as a typo. Nobody receives a notification.

Regular update

A regular update sends a notification to the followers of the article.

Use a promoted update when you make important changes and want people to see them. It works like a regular update, and the article also appears again in the content feed and in the digest, as if it were new content.

Request approval

Your changes are sent for approval and are published only when they are approved. To learn more, read Approval.

Save changes as draft

If your changes are not ready yet, choose "Save changes as draft". Nobody is notified, and the published version of the article does not change. You find the draft in "My Contents", in the "Drafts" tab. The other contributors of the space can open it too.

Space members who can edit the article see a message at the top of it: "There is a more recent draft version." They can click "Open" to read the draft. Readers of the space cannot edit articles and only see the published version.

To publish the draft, click "Edit", then "Save", and choose one of the update options.

When you edit an article, you become one of its contributors. Your name is shown at the top of the article, after the name of the content owner.
