Urgent Notifications

Send an article that recipients must read, and follow who read it.

Updated on 6 October 2026

An urgent notification makes sure that important information reaches people quickly. Recipients get an email, and a message stays on screen in Elium until they mark it as read.

Send an urgent notification

  1. Click your profile picture in the top right corner, then click "Settings".

  2. In the menu on the left, open "Emails" and click "Urgent notifications".

  3. Click "Send a new notification".

  4. In the "Urgent notification" window, select the article to send.

  5. Under "Choose recipients", add users, teams or a whole space.

  6. If you want, add a message under "Message (optional)".

  7. Click "Send".

What recipients see

Each recipient gets an email with a link to the article. In Elium, an "Important information" message appears at the bottom right of the screen, above the content, with your message and the article. It stays there until the recipient clicks "Mark as read". Opening the article does not remove it.

Follow who read it

The "Urgent notifications" page lists the notifications that you sent, with their message, their reach (the share of recipients who read it), their date and their status.

Click the reach of a notification to see who read it. The window has two tabs: "Read" and "Not read".

When a notification is no longer needed, click "Archive". The message then disappears for all recipients, including those who have not read it.
