Search on SharePoint from Elium
Connect SharePoint sites to Elium: advanced search shows their results in separate tabs. Users sign in to SharePoint, so their own rights apply.
What are we talking about?
This integration lets you connect SharePoint sites to Elium. When a user runs an advanced search, Elium also searches the connected SharePoint sites.
Use Cases
This integration is particularly beneficial if you want to use Elium as your central knowledge platform while still having documents that are, or need to remain, on SharePoint for reasons specific to your organisation.
Activate the integration
You can activate this integration through the "Integration" tab in the platform's administration panel. Once the integration is activated, you will be prompted to authenticate to SharePoint. After authentication, you will have access to the integration configuration.
In the example above, two sites have been connected: "Customer Success" and "Engineering". Users see these sites as tabs in the advanced search.
How does it work?
Once the integration is configured, Elium automatically searches your Elium platform and the connected SharePoint sites in parallel.
The sites appear as tabs in the search.
In the example above, the user has performed a search with the keywords "terms conditions". When the user clicks the "Customer Success" tab, they see the results from that site without leaving Elium.
About Permissions
The SharePoint integration respects user rights. Users must sign in to SharePoint through Elium before they can see results from SharePoint sites. Elium then runs each search with the user's own SharePoint credentials.
