Transfer Article
Move the ownership of articles from one user to others, space by space, when someone leaves.
Updated on 7 October 2026
Content transfer moves the ownership of articles from one user to another, in bulk. Use it when a key contributor leaves the platform. With verification dates, it helps you keep the knowledge base up to date.
The owner of an article appears in the panel on the right of the article. The owner is responsible for updating it when it expires.
Start a transfer
-
Click your profile picture in the top right corner, then click "Settings".
-
In the menu on the left, open "Content management" and click "Content Transfer".
-
Choose the user under "Choose a user", then click "Transfer content".
The page also lists the transfers in progress, the disabled users with the number of articles they own, and the successors who still have articles to process. Each row has a "Transfer content" button.
-
For each space where the user owns articles, click "Assign a successor" and choose a person. You can only choose people who have access to the space.
-
Tick "Force transfer" to give the ownership to the successor at once. Otherwise, the successor reviews the articles first.
-
Click "Save".
On the successor's side
If you did not force the transfer, the successor receives a notification. The articles to process appear in "Tasks", in the "Content Transfer" tab.
The successor can select several articles at once, or open each article before taking ownership. If an article is no longer useful, the successor can archive it.
