Check for Duplicates

A good practice when building your knowledge base is to avoid duplicates. Elium provides you with an overview of all duplicate files on the platform.

To access this preview, navigate to the administration panel in the "Duplicated Article" menu of the "Content management" section.

A table displays all the duplicated files on your platform.

This is a two-level table. In the first level, each row represents a file. In the second level, an Article that contains the file. This structure allows you to see how many times each file is duplicated and, importantly, in which Articles it is found.

In the example above, we can see that a Keynote file (the equivalent of PowerPoint on MacOS) has been uploaded in multiple Articles under different names (product_update 2.key, product_update.key, etc).

You can access a preview of the Article by simply clicking on its title. This feature enables you to quickly view the context in which the file is located.

And now?

What should you do if you have duplicate files? There are several solutions. If the duplicates are intentional, then you don't need to take any action. However, if they are a mistake, you can either merge the Articles, archive one, or link them together. It's up to you to determine the best solution for each situation.
