What are the levels of security for the user password?

Updated over 2 weeks ago

On Elium, we offer 3 password security levels:

  • Low: ensures the password is different from the user name.

  • Medium: also requires the password to be a minimum of 8 characters long and to contain a variety of different characters.

  • High: additionally checks the password for simplistic patterns and resemblance to dictionary words. Repetitions and palindromes are not allowed, and a minimum of 12 characters is required.

💡 Note

  • By default, the security level is set to medium on Elium platforms. The administrator can change this setting from the administration interface, under the 'Security' tab.

  • An account is suspended after 5 unsuccessful attempts. It is automatically re-enabled after a period of 10 minutes; manual reactivation is not possible.
