🔒 Permissions
To have the right to tag articles, you obviously need access, but you also must meet one of the following conditions:
be the author of this article
have the right of "contributor" to the space or more
have the right of system "coordinator" or more
Tagging articles is one of the key features for optimal use of Elium.
🧐 What is a tag and why they are key
A tag is a term or set of terms applied to articles or to a profile. When used correctly, it serves as an effective sorting and selecting filter that facilitates access to relevant information.
Tags can perform several functions:
use standardized and harmonized vocabulary to qualify the object or subject of articles
indicate the value of usage or the nature of articles (e.g., "competitive intelligence", "only in-house dissemination", etc.)
search for information that the search engine cannot detect (e.g., article language)
be the trigger for targeted dissemination, from individual alerts or shared alerts
support the creation of filtered and dynamic views in the space tabs
Moreover, as tags are collective and cross-functional in spaces (apart from exceptions defined by the administrator), they optimize global searching across the spaces.
🏷 How to tag an article
You can tag a single article or a selection of articles to which you want to apply common tags using bulk actions. The tag window appears when you are publishing your article for the first time. It will not appear again if you make modifications within the article.
However, you can always edit your tags once your article is published.
Click on "Publish" or "Modify tags"
Search for or create a tag using the search box. The existing tags and their respective categories will be displayed.
Navigate between the available categories to find the tags.
Create a tag, if the system allows it, if you cannot find the tag you need.
