The Similar Content Detection feature helps you maintain a unique and consistent knowledge base. Using real-time semantic analysis, the system alerts you if similar concepts have already been covered in other articles, preventing the creation of redundant content.
How It Works
The system proactively analyzes your text while you draft. Detection is automatically triggered when:
You finish a paragraph (by pressing
Enter). You paste a block of text into the editor.
Unlike simple keyword searches, our technology uses AI to understand the context of your sentences. This allows it to find thematic matches even if the wording is different.
Using the Feature
1. The Detection Indicator
When a similarity is found, a subtle alert icon (⚠️) appears in your editor toolbar or beside the relevant content block. The indicator is designed to be discreet so it doesn't interrupt your creative flow.
2. Reviewing Matches
By clicking or hovering over the icon, a popover menu will display:
Article Titles: A list of documents containing similar content.
Direct Link: A button to open the related article in preview while staying in the editor.
3. Managing Alerts (Ignore)
If you find that the similarity is intentional or the match isn't relevant, simply click "Ignore."
Note: Once a pair of articles is marked as "ignored," the system will suppress further alerts for that specific pair within the current document.
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Does the system detect contradictions?
In this initial version, the tool focuses exclusively on semantic similarity. Detecting contradictions or factual errors is planned for a future update.
Does detection slow down the editor?
Not at all. The analysis runs asynchronously in the background. You can continue typing normally without any performance lag.
Who can see these alerts?
Alerts are only visible to contributors while they are working in the editor.
