Any contributor can import a file and convert it into a native Elium article.
Overview
The new Import Files as Native Content feature lets you convert a PDF document into an Elium article.
Once imported, your files become native articles that benefit from all Elium features: workflows (approval, expiration date, etc.), collaborative editing, and improved indexing for search and AI.
Benefits
Leverage Elium features: workflows, alerts, enriched blocks.
Optimize search: native content is better indexed and more accessible to AI.
Save time: import PDF documents directly without manual copy-paste.
How to Import
1) Click on the Create button (just like for a new article).
2) In the menu, select From a file.
3) In the window that opens, upload one or several PDF files (drag & drop or select from your computer).
⚠️ Currently, only PDF files are supported. Word and PowerPoint imports are on the roadmap.
4) The file(s) will automatically be processed by AI. This may take a few minutes.
You can close the window while the process runs.
Your imports will remain available in the Import Table (see below).
Once the conversion is complete:
The Elium editor will automatically open with the transcription of your PDF.
You can edit the content, add special blocks (media, highlights, etc.), and publish the article once it’s ready.
Import Table
All your imports are centralized in the My Content > Import tab.
This table allows you to:
View the list of imported files.
Track their status (in progress, completed, error).
Easily find imports that take longer to process.
