Updated over 2 weeks ago

General Overview

The Elium extension for Chrome and Microsoft Edge adds a minimalist sidebar that gives you direct access to Elium content and smart assistants without leaving your main tool (e.g., your ticketing platform). It is primarily designed for customer support teams but can also be useful for anyone needing to quickly consult or share Elium knowledge.

Requirements

  • Browser: A recent version of Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge

  • Elium Account: Access to your Elium platform

Installation

Go to the extension's page on the Chrome Web Store and click the main button to add it to your browser.

The extension will then appear at the top right of your browser window.

First Launch

  1. Click the Elium icon in your extensions (see screenshot above).

  2. In the panel that opens, click Log in.

  3. Enter your Elium tenant URL (e.g., https://acme.elium.com).

  4. Authenticate using SSO or your password.

You’ll then access your platform directly through the extension.

Key Features

Browse Content and Decision Trees

Access your Elium knowledge base and navigate decision trees directly from the sidebar, with a clean layout optimised for narrow screens.

One-Click Favorites

Click the favorite icon at the top of an article to add or remove it from your favorites.

Interact with Content

  • Comment: Leave a comment that will appear in Elium.

  • Favorite: Mark an article for quick access.

Create a Content Request

If the answer doesn’t exist, fill out the Request Content form — your request will be added directly to Elium’s editorial queue.

Search

Quick and advanced search features are fully available from the browser extension, just like in the main app.

Smart Assistants

When viewing a ticket and opening the AI assistant:

  • Generate a summarised response you can paste into your ticket.

  • Edit or rephrase the answer before sending.

In the example below, the smart assistant is used to respond to a user complaining that their printer no longer appears on their computer.

The response is generated based on documentation available in your platform (no external sources!).

The agent can view the source used to generate the response.

Integrations

The smart assistants are compatible with the following apps:

  • Zendesk

  • Intercom

  • EasyVista

Other apps can be added based on your needs.
